Who should take this course?
This workshop is an intermediate level respiratory protection course providing background knowledge and practical experience in qualitative fit testing. It is intended for individuals who have basic knowledge and experience with qualitative fit testing and who will be responsible for conducting qualitative fit testing within their workplace.
In an intimate classroom setting, instruction provides an overview of Canadian respiratory legislation, introduces the requirements of a respiratory protection program, the basic concepts of respiratory protection, the roles and responsibilities of a fit tester and how to prepare to fit test co-workers. Participants are then guided through practical exercise of the fit test procedure as both the fit tester and the fit test subject. Participants will be monitored to confirm that each displays the practices associated with the most current CSA guidelines of competency. (CSA Z94.4-11).
