In response to the evolving situation with the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have cancelled all NRCA courses and training events effective March 16, until the end of April. This two-day course is designed for owners, supervisors, joint health and safety committee members, safety administrators and those pursuing the National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation. The class explains B.C.’s OHS legislation as it pertains to construction safety and explores the roles and responsibilities of a construction safety professional in program administration and communication. Participants will work on practical exercises that increase their familiarity with the Workers Compensation Act, OHS Regulation and technical communication skills that are essential to this role.
- Identify and explain relevant components of BC’s OHS legislation
- Explain the purpose, value of codes, bylaws, authority and associations in BC
- Identify communication barriers and solutions in the workplace
- Learn, discuss and practice writing technical communications.
- Analyze injury data using the incident calculator
Participants must achieve a minimum score of 80% on the course written exam to obtain a certificate.
Construction Safety Legislation and Administration is a BC Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA) course hosted at the NRCA Training Room.
