The Northern Regional Construction Association is proud to present two industry-focused bursaries: the NRCA Women in Construction Bursary and The Scott Bone Legacy Bursary. Our bursaries are designed to support individuals pursuing careers in the construction industry by providing financial assistance and valuable opportunities. Whether you are a woman aiming to break barriers or an aspiring professional dedicated to making a positive impact, we are here to help you achieve your goals.

NRCA Women in Construction Bursary

The NRCA Women in Construction Committee is offering two (2) $500.00 bursaries to offer financial aid for individuals pursuing education in any area of construction. Including but not limited to – trades, project management, safety, engineering and more.

Through this bursary, they aim to alleviate the financial challenges associated by pursuing education for two recipients who will receive funds to assist with various expenses. The funds are not limited to paying for tuition. Other costs it can help cover include childcare, transportation, or living costs. We recognize the diverse challenges faced by women in construction and want to provide support accordingly.

Criteria:

• Applicant must identify as a woman
• Must reside in the NRCA region (Northern BC, including Quesnel and Williams Lake areas)
• Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
• Demonstrated clear career objectives relating to the construction industry
• Evidence of financial need

Students who wish to apply must submit the following documentation:

  • Completed application form
  • 750-word max. statement of your goals and on at least one of the following topics:
    • Demonstration on financial need
    • Why you choose to pursue a career in construction and your career goals.
    • What barriers you may have faced or overcome to get where you are now
    • Why these funds would assist you in pursuing your education.
  • Two references (one may be personal, one professional)
  • Proof of registration in your program must be presented to receive funds

The Scott Bone Legacy Bursary

The Northern Regional Construction Association is proud to be offering two (2) $500.00 bursaries in honour of retired CEO, Scott Bone. These bursaries are to offer financial aid for individuals pursuing education in any area of construction. Including but not limited too – trades, project management, safety, engineering and more.

Criteria:

  • Must reside in the NRCA region (Northern BC, including Quesnel and Williams Lake areas)
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
  • Submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts (High School or Post-Secondary)
  • Demonstrated clear career objectives relating to the construction industry

Students who wish to apply must submit the following documentation:

  • Completed Application Form
  • 750-word max. statement of your goals and on at least one of the following topics:
    • Why you choose to pursue a career in trades and construction
    • The impact you would like to make in the industry and your community
    • What barriers you may have faced or overcome to get where you are now
  • Submit an unofficial copy of your transcripts (High School or Post-Secondary)
  • Two references (one may be personal, one professional)
  • Proof of registration in your program must be presented to receive funds
