Statement from the Northern Regional Construction Association – Tumbler Ridge shooting
We are beyond saddened and heartbroken by the tragic incident that has unfolded in Tumbler Ridge. This is a very small community within our region, and many of our members, partners, and friends have deep personal and professional ties there. Our thoughts are with all the victims, their families, the students and staff, first responders, and everyone impacted by this devastating event.
As an association, we recognize that the effects of something like this reach far beyond the immediate community. Many people across Northern BC will be grieving, worried, or struggling to process what has happened. Please know that you are not alone, and support matters in moments like these.
We are connecting with the BC Construction Association and the BCCA Employee Benefits Trust to understand what supports and resources may be available to members, employees, and families who may be affected. We are also listening to the needs of the community and will continue to share information and updates as appropriate.
Our hearts are with Tumbler Ridge.
If any of our members or their teams have been affected and need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly. NRCA is here to help, and we will do our best to connect you with available resources and assistance during this difficult time.
