Lee Bedell, Chair

Area Manager, DGS Astro Paving – Fort St. John

Lee graduated high school in 1997 and then spent two years recovering from a back injury. He attended SAIT and finished with a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, while worked as a summer student for the MOTI doing QA/QC.

Lee worked in the Civil Construction field for 14 years, with 3 years working for the City of Dawson Creek as an Engineering Assistant and 11 years for DGS Astro Paving in the Peace Region. He started with DGS as a Civil Foreman and 3 years ago became the Area Manager.

​​Lee has been involved in NRCA for 4 years. He enjoys all aspects of the construction industry, from the people he works with to the owners he works for.

Tim Holmes, Vice Chair

Project Manager, Boreal Pacific Enterprises – Fort St. John

​​Tim is an Estimator and Project Manager for Boreal Pacific Enterprises – a division of Terus Construction Ltd. – Tim has been in the construction industry for 21 years, with 9 years of experience in providing expected costs for varying sizes of projects and implementing planning processes to meet project requirements. Staring in residential and commercial building construction and later moving into road building. 

Tim received his Gold Seal Certification in estimating in 2019 and is currently in the process of obtaining Gold Seal Certification in Project Management. 

Tim became a board member for the NRCA in May of 2016, and continues to enjoy the experience and the people within the construction industry that he’s met along the way.

​Aaron Henry, Second Vice Chair

Vice President, Kalmar Construction Ltd. – Fort St. John

​Born and raised in Fort St. John, Aaron has been in the involved in the construction industry for 20 years. Starting during summer breaks through high school, he has worked his way up from a labourer position to running crews and is now estimating, project managing, and helps oversee the company as Vice President for Kalmar Construction.

Aaron has been involved with the NRCA as a director for 5 years and is the interim chair of the NRCA Finance & Audit Committee. He also serves as an advisor on the NRCA Industry Council. In addition to Aaron’s NRCA commitments, he also sits on the Board of Directors for the BCCA and serves on the Finance & Audit Committee as well as the Standards & Practices Committee. Aaron has had a chance to work with great people in the industry during his time on the board is excited for the current direction of the NRCA and having an opportunity to contribute to bring members as much value as possible.

Iain Elder, Director

Senior Technical CSR, Armtec Inc. – Prince George

Iain has over 40 years in the construction industry and has served in all areas from residential building to heavy industrial building.

Graduating from CNC in 1984 from the Carpentry program, Iain has gone on to achieve different levels of professionalism in the construction field. Iain completed The Art of Persuasion: How to change ideas, attitudes and actions and Strategies, Skills & Tactics of Negotiations at the Sauder School of Business, and also has a number of industry education courses under his belt such as Construction Estimation, Construction 101, and Excel Levels I & II.

Iain is past Chairman of Prince George Construction Association (now the NRCA) and sits on four committees with the NRCA. He is also a past director of the Northern Interior Mining Group.

Andrew Adams, Director

Business Advisor, MNP LLP – Prince George

Andrew is a Business Advisor serving clients out of MNP’s Prince George and Quesnel offices. He is passionate about helping business owners, managers and professionals grow their enterprises and achieve their long-term goals.

He has first-hand experience managing the responsibilities of business ownership. He takes a proactive approach as a trusted advisor, developing strategies to help his clients meet and overcome their challenges.

Andrew earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting and marketing from Simon Fraser University in 1995. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 1998. He earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 2002.

Karen Williams, Director

Project Manager, Datoff Bros Construction Ltd. – Prince George

​Karen has 10 years construction experience, currently working for Datoff Bros Construction Ltd. as a Project Manager. Karen’s primary role is to complete project bids or RFP’s and manage contracts, schedules, and budgets for on-going projects.

Karen attained her Civil Engineering Technologies Diploma through Camosun College. During her time in school, Karen began working on construction sites as a Field Technician. Her passion for the construction industry and interest in the internal workings of projects led Karen to her current position. Her work in a variety of construction environments, spanning from Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Residential has always kept her interested in learning more. Karen has worked throughout Northern Alberta and British Columbia and has also worked for General Contractors and in defense infrastructure as a member of Defense Construction Canada. This variety of experiences brings a wealth of knowledge to the NRCA. Karen brings a diverse knowledge of regional practices, contract understanding and experience to help grow the Northern Regional Construction Association work to fulfill its mandate.

Dustin Graham, Director

President, Local Rental Solutions Ltd. – Prince George

Dustin Graham is the President of Local Rental Solutions Ltd, a company he helped build with a reputation of safety, trust and reliability, LRS serves clients in the construction sector all over Northern BC with two locations in Prince George & Terrace. Having grown up in PG, Dustin has deep roots in the community and when not working he enjoys spending time on his farm, horseback riding or getting outdoors to go camping & fishing with his family and friends.

Jenn Cook, Director

Partner, Allpoints Fire Protection Ltd. – Prince George

Jenn has over a decade of experience in the construction industry. As a Partner of both Allpoints Fire Protection and CC Industries, she is responsible for department management, HR and finance within the organizations.

After graduating with a four-year electrical apprenticeship at the College of New Caledonia, Jenn worked as an apprentice at Kodiak Electric, where she gained a wealth of knowledge which helped shape where she is today. Being the only female student throughout most of her training, Jenn has unique insight into being educated, working as an apprentice, and eventually owning a business in a male-dominated industry. Being a woman brought her a set of challenges but also a set of opportunities that she’d like to see offered to more people.

Based in Prince George, Jenn strongly believes in the advocacy work of the NRCA. Her lived experiences have helped identify where she believes there is opportunity to make the biggest impacts in the industry, and she wants to help shape the future by smoothing the road for those behind her.

Taylor Manhas, Director

Safety Coordinator, Westcana Electric Inc. – Prince George

​Taylor directs Westcana Electric’s Health and Safety Department with her NCSO and GSC designation. Her career has grown to be heavily involved in Women in Trades, the Builders Code, Indigenous Development and Women in Leadership throughout British Columbia. Taylor’s passion for diversity and inclusivity within the construction field has skyrocketed Westcana to win multiple awards through the Builders Code as a leader for women in trades.

​Taylor also oversees Westcana’s Health and Wellness Program focusing on not only safety but mental health throughout the industry. ​She is currently on the Northern Committee for Minerva, and now a member of the NRCA committee for Women in Construction and the NRCA Board of Directors. 

Lonnie Trelenberg, Director

Principal, NW Electrical Solutions Ltd. – Prince George

Lonnie Trelenberg is the principal owner/operator and head master electrician of NW Electrical Solutions Ltd and is certified through education being an “A” class FSR electrician, and accredited Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal Certified Project Manager, in addition to his work in the industry in Northern BC and Alberta since 1998.

Lonnie is also a consecutive three-year award winner of the VRCA construction Awards of Excellence from 2016-2018 for projects he managed and was most notably recognized for his project organization skills and team management abilities on these major projects completed in north.

Mike Fawcett, Past Chair

Geotechnical Product Manager, Brock White Canada ULC, Prince George

Active with the Prince George Construction Association (now NRCA) and BCCA-North since 2005, Mike has been involved in the ICI Construction Sector for many years. Mike has been actively involved in the evolution and amalgamation of our Northern Associations and works closely with NRCA CEO and NRCA Executive.

Mike believes strongly that collaboration and communication is the necessary foundation to continue to build and strengthen our association and feels privileged to represent our members across the North, while working alongside his fellow directors as they collectively provide governance to the NRCA and the BCCA.
